Install your extension
Download your browser’s package, then follow its steps below.
Chrome
- Extract the ZIP into a folder you will keep.
- Open chrome://extensions in Chrome.
- Turn on Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, then select the folder containing manifest.json.
Edge
- Extract the ZIP into a folder you will keep.
- Open edge://extensions in Edge.
- Turn on Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, then select the folder containing manifest.json.
Brave
- Extract the ZIP into a folder you will keep.
- Open brave://extensions in Brave.
- Turn on Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, then select the folder containing manifest.json.
Opera
- Extract the ZIP into a folder you will keep.
- Open opera://extensions in Opera.
- Turn on Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, then select the folder containing manifest.json.
Firefox
- Download the Firefox XPI package.
- Open about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox.
- Choose Load Temporary Add-on and select the downloaded XPI.
This developer installation is removed when Firefox closes. Load it again to reconnect; automatic resume cannot carry across removal.
Safari · macOS
- Extract the ZIP containing the XMRFuel macOS app and Safari installation guide.
- For developer installation, enable Show features for web developers in Safari Settings → Advanced, then Allow unsigned extensions in Settings → Developer.
- Open the XMRFuel app, then enable it in Safari Settings → Extensions. See the included guide for the temporary-extension option or signing the app with Xcode.
macOS 14+ and Safari 17+. This developer build is not Apple-signed or notarized. Safari resets unsigned-extension permission when it quits.
Connect, then choose how to support
Open the extension’s Settings, connect your account, and confirm the matching code on XMRFuel. Compatible campaigns are available automatically. Select a campaign, review processor limits and allocations, then Accept and start mining.
For community updates only, follow communities and leave mining paused. Notification preferences start on; browser permission is requested when you enable alerts.
Stay in control
CPU and GPU background mining are selected by default. Closing the popup or XMRFuel website tabs leaves authorized extension mining running. If you turn off background mining for a processor, that processor waits until an extension page or popup is visible and focused. Pause all is always available in the popup.
Automatic resume is selected by default in the Chrome, Edge, Brave and Opera packages. It resumes only a setup you explicitly started; Pause clears that running intent. Firefox temporary and Safari developer installations require a manual restart. Browser shutdown and device sleep interrupt mining. Websites cannot silently start the extension.
Only actual confirmed pool credit earns entries. Resource targets and earning estimates are approximate; accepted shares and device hashes alone never create entries.
Updates & removal
The extension checks for a verified package update and shows an update prompt. You can check again from Settings. Choose Update in the extension. A complete newer build in the installed folder is verified and applied directly. Otherwise, download the package, replace the files in the same folder, then choose Apply update. Mining pauses before reload and settings stay saved. Firefox and Safari follow their installation guide. Review the new version and start explicitly.
To remove it, click Disconnect in Settings, then Remove in your browser’s extension manager. If you already removed it, revoke the connection from Connected devices.
